How delightful it was to work with Jennifer to preserve her sister, Amy's Bridal Bouquet and make beautiful gifts for Christmas! All the bridesmaid's flowers were also sent to me and other gifts were made from them! Pictured are Bookmarks, a Beveled Glass Ornament and 11x14 Preserved Bridal Bouquet, vacuum-sealed with the Wedding Photograph! Note that in the upper corner of the art is one flower from each bridesmaid bouquet and in the bottom corner is the boutonniere from the Groom!

Beautiful Rose Bridal Bouquet!

This bouquet was shipped to me from Indiana to be preserved and I recieved it on my doorstep the day after I moved from Ohio to Texas! So, you can imagine digging through boxes for all my pressing supplies and working with these beautiful orange roses on a makeshift picnic table in the living room, surrounded by mountains of more boxes! Lissel was very patient with me for the several weeks of unpacking and setting up my studio before I could put her art together! Thanks again, Lissel! :)

White Calla Lillies ~

My friend, Lissel wanted the bouquet she carried in her wedding a few years ago recreated. She carried large Calla Lillies which would have not fit into an 8x10 frame, so we opted for Mini Calla Lillies. Teal Blue and white were the colors of her wedding, so I accented the sweet simple bouquet with a teal ribbon. The pressed, preserved Calla's are on a seafoam blue background with a black frame.

Laser Engraving with Roses Taken from the Wedding Cake!

These roses were taken from the wedding cake and preserved. I took the bride and groom's engagement photo and had it laser engraved onto the back of the glass, then added a few more flowers to make the roses "pop". This was a wedding gift for a dear friend...Congratulations Sondra and Richard! :)

Pansies Never Fail!

I thought I'd take a break from the Bridal and Memorial Art to post a simple and inexpensive craft idea! This is a 5x7 framed pressed flower art picture. I used pretty scrapbook paper and printed the Bible Verse using my printer. Then I arranged Fern, Sweet Alyssum, Pansies and Tendrils from Pea Plants...yes, the kind you eat! Pansies might be the easiest and most successful flower to press! Try it! Just tuck them into a phone book for about a week or two! Pansies are for sale in the Spring and again in the Fall, as they prefer cool weather. If you would rather not press your own flowers, there are many websites that sell flowers that are already pressed! C'mon! Try this! You can do this! :)

Karen's bouquet was all white/green and purple Lizianthus...very pretty.

Most flowers change color as they dry. The purple Lizianthus became a navy blue.

Karen opted to have the glass laser engraved with their names and wedding date.

When all the flowers are the same color, leaves usually provide contrast so that the flowers don't all run together. Fortunately, this bouquet had alot of variety in texture which helped alot! The actual art is muct more colorfully vibrant than this photo.

Sometimes the bouquets come in in less than perfect condition. This bouquet was almost a week old, so it took some work to salvage as much as possible. I had to completely replace the roses.

The background is celery seed, a flecked sage...and I think it compliments the flowers beautifully!

Natalie died at the young age of 14. Her school honored her parents this May at what would have been her high school graduation. Her mother was presented with these flowers. The lower photo are rose petal necklaces and earrings for Natalie's mom and aunts.

This art was done in memory of a little 7 year old girl using flowers from her funeral, which were shipped from another state. Her favorite colors were pink and yellow. The funeral card was attached to the back of the picture. Her photo was withheld to honor the privacy of the family.

This bouquet presented a few challenges, namely, UPS did not get it to me overnight express, as promised and as the customer paid for. So, many of the flowers had to be replaced with new flowers. UPS made good on the damage, and I am happy with the results!

This 8x10 has some beautiful hydrangea around the wedding invitation. Hydrangea always press nicely. These hydrangea were spray painted, which made them stick to the press, but I was able to salvage enough to put together a nice picture for this bride!

These pressed flower necklace charms were a blast to make! I will be offering these to my floral preservation customers. I am thinking brides might like having a necklace made from petals gleaned from her bridal bouquet. Funeral flower customers might also like an heirloom momento made from their flowers. I am toying with the idea of opening a "Store" on my website and offering these.

Heather is another "adopted" daughter and it was my pleasure to preserve her bouquet. Heather put her own bouquet together, purchasing flowers the day before the wedding, and adding some wildflowers she found on the way to the wedding! Chocolate brown was the dominant color in her wedding and so that is the background color I used. I love the outcome!

My name is Annie Fentz!

One look around my home would tell you that my greatest passion is flowers. I've been studying flowers, growing them, playing with them and crafting with them, my entire life! I always found flowers to be such a beautiful display of God's glory. It would seem fitting then, that I would fall in love with the art of pressing and preserving flowers.

Pressed Garden was born in 2005 and since that time, I have had the privilege of preserving beautiful bridal bouquets and memorial flowers of the most wonderful people!
